Blending coarse, unstructured recordings with a voice that can melt hearts – 18-year-old Jacob Allen isn’t your typical teenager. Born and bred in Surrey, Jacob’s found his way into the same collective that helped breed King Krule, Jamie Isaac and Filthy Boy. Influenced by everyone from Jeff Buckley to Sigur Ros, his debut ‘Only Trying To Tell You’ is sure to do well.

After having only appeared online last week, Brighton-based three-piece, Soph Nathan, are causing a stir on the south coast. Comprising of members from Hella Better Dancer and Birdskulls – Soph Nathan make dream-pop with all the punk edge of Courtney Barnett. The band already has a slot supporting Honeyblood in September, and that’s without even playing their first gig.

Krule has done much to inspire the producers of South London – but his effect is perhaps no more apparent than in the four-piece, Cellar Door. Mixing washed out melodies with the same racing stabs of guitar – Cellar Door’s debut, ‘Bait One’ is for those who miss Archy’s more lo-fi days.

Swapping the acoustic guitar for an electric, his third EP is all fades and pedals, as the 21-year-old Brighton based musician reinvents his previously soft and subtle sound to something with pace and anger.

Arbutus Records signee’s Tonstartsbandht (pronounced THAN-starts-bandit) have just put out their debut record, ‘Overcome’. Already attracting huge love in the UK and the US – these two Florida born brothers make music that’s twisted, tight, and insatiably catchy. ‘Preston “great-ass” Imfat’ is sure to be a huge summer record.
